Rockheart Retreat is a little rustic cabin on a 2.6 acre lot just across the street from Austin Creek. Although we are very close to the creek, the cabin is in no danger of flooding as it sits a good ways up from the water. River rafting is a very popular summer activity in the Russian River area, and canoe's can be rented at the beach in Monte Rio.
The large enclosed deck, which is dog friendly, features a grill for bbq's, lounge chairs and a hammock for taking a nap, and table & chairs for outdoor dining or crafts. All of which is completely private and surrounded by natural woodland plants and of course our own garden landscaping. Over time we are planning to make more of the 2.6 acres accessible by foot with the introduction of mini walking trails up to the natural terraces above and behind the deck area.
A somewhat unique feature of Rockheart Retreat, is it's outside shower. Surrounded by nothing except nature, taking a hot steamy shower in the woods is quite an experience, and one which our guests truly enjoy. It's a great way to rinse off after a relaxing soak in the hot-tub.
With two bedrooms and a futon in the lounge the cozy cabin can accommodate up to 6 adults at a time. The audio system is ceiling mounted in all rooms so your favorites relaxing CD's can be heard throughout. A pot-belly stove will warm the whole cabin and provides a great focal point in the main living area.
For those that just can't be completely out of touch with the rest of the world, Rockheart Retreat provides CableTV to catch up on current and world events or simply to watch your favorite shows. And for the true workaholic's amongst us we even provide free High-Speed Internet with easy to use wireless access. All you need to browse the net or catch-up with email, is to remember to bring your wireless enabled laptop computer with you. Nation-wide long distance calling is another feature we throw in for free to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
